I just received my T4 slip for the year and I have been left with the question of where did all my money go? Has this ever happened to you? First the government took more then half of my gross pay. I dont understand why the Canadian government has a deficit, they made more of my money last year then I did? Don't get me wrong I am proud to be a Canadian but lets be honest it hurts little. But even thats not as bad as the difference between my net pay and my bank account balance. I am left pondering these questions, where did it go, what do I have to show for it, do I really spend more then I make? I bet many of us wonder the same thing at tax time. Well my fellow Northern Cents members I have decided to go on a diet; besides needing a biggest loser regiment for my waist line I need it for my savings. 1st step is to find out where it has all gone - so I am going to start tracking it, all the in's and out's right down to the Tim Horton's coffee and .89 donut I ate on the way to work yesterday. (I told you I needed a diet) I am giving you all a biggest saver challenge let me know how much spending you can cut out this week and we can compare notes.
